My daughter spotted this lizard struggling in road today and begged me to bring it home. This poor critter has been through the wars. It has one front leg missing entirely very close to the body. one rear leg missing a foot, some digits missing from the other front foot and has recently been chewed, probably cat or dog. The missing leg, foot and digits are old well healed wounds, so its obviously a survivor, but it really has difficulty moving around and would not have been a survivor much longer. Its not skinny, amazingly, so perhaps until recently its been hiding in a garden full of snails. Anyway, we will see its fed, hydrated and that its wounds heal then we may apply to parks & wildlife to keep it on our license, or call wires (wildlife rescue service) who will do the same, since it certainly can't fend for itself well. we will keep it without heating for fear of worsening any infection it may have and treat the wounds.

Poor little guy, at least he managed to wobble his way into the path of good hands. Good luck with him, I know he is going to be well taken care of.

I dont think they will have much problem with me looking after it till it heals anyway, They would never release it in anycase. I will ring parks n wildlife about it tomorrow.
