Found a heap of geckoes residing under a bathtub that's been sitting in my yard for the last week waiting to be turned into a rat tub. - Found this girl who looks like she has 2 eggs inside of her. Does anyone know what sort she is? Any yes I let her go back where she came from, there was a whole colony of ones just like her in varying shades and patterns, about 5 of them all adults about her size and larger. oh, and they all had really bright dots of red on top of each toe as well.

did she have lil spines on the start of her tail if so might be the same as 1's here, in coggers they are called house gekos, inny calls em asian house gekos, but the 1's here dont have red dots on thier toes

I know its nothing overly special - just seem a bit different from the usual house geckos I get here (I'l try and get a photo of the big AHG I get), and yeah it has a spiny tail. I'l try and repost the pics a bit bigger so you see it more clearer. Its very rare I find anything of interest in my yard (goddamn suburbia!), so I was over the moon when I found a tribe over geckos even though they are common!

Ok from lookin in coggers (if your in qld) it COULD BE diplodactylus williamsi
Looks like that has spikey tail only but no red dots on feet.

damn youve got some intresting nice wild herps there !
If your from somewhere else I dont have a clue. Maybe post it on APS and ask GeckoDan smile.gif
Oh yeah..its definatly gravid Id say smile.gif Very cool, maybe leave the tub where it is, you might see some eggs hatch! Get Pics! smile.gif
Atleast replace the tub with a good log or overturned pot or something, give them somewhere to nest/aggregate if they do. smile.gif

Yeah, Townsville, Nth Qld. I need a book like the one you have Inny! - Does it cover all reptiles? I let the gecko go without even thinking about it! herproom/doh.gif

Reptile Planet- 12-17-2005

Oh Yeah, Coggers is the reptile bible in Oz! covers just about everything, theres so many awesome species in it, I dint know existed! cool.gif

hey guys, yep its an asian house gecko and is gravid alright lol...its about to explode. The red on the toes look more like clusters of mites, i have found these mites on a few species but especially southern leaf-tailed geckos. I dont think they harm the animal too much.

Well thereya go, not even Aussie! Crikey!
