Every night when you turn on the light to go outside all these geckos freeze and after a minute or two scamper for shelter. Last night when I went out I counted 5 on one wall within 5 ft of each other. I am guessing these are marbled velvets but expert opinion would be appreciated. We also see a fair few Robust Velvets which I will try and get some pics of soon

I must admit though it is quite depressing seeing them all. You walk past them counting $200, $400, $600, $800, $1000... You see how much they are worth and they are everywhere.

Someone has informed me that they are a dtella geyrha or something like that (common house gecko). Is this right?

definately genus Gehyra most likely G.Dubia or G .variegata. my money is on G.variegata.

G.dubia is found along the east coast and inland from central north nsw through central qld to cape york peninsular and some islands in torres straight.

G.variegata is found across most of australia from western aus through nt, sa, qld and nsw and a tiny nrth/west corner of vic.

this is G.dubia (tree or dubious dtella)
