Hi everone,untel I joined this forum I did not know of the restrictions australia had on exoctics.
What is it you can keep?Is there laws about keeping Wild caught native reptiles?

Hi Mike, we can only keep snakes lizards and frogs that are australian.
we can not have exotics of any kind here in australia. as for wild caught their are some people with licences to catch and breed but not very many of those and most off all no taking from the wild its not right. hope that helps you Mike.

But in saying that, some states, such as Canberra don't need licenses for animals like eastern beardies and shingle backs. We can keep a few species of introduced species, but only in selected area's.
