Right now I am using a under tank heater for my sand boa, and it keeps the warm side at the right temp. I was thinking of maybe switching to a 75 watt moonglow bulb that would give me the same gradient. I am thinking of switching because it likes to burrow, in the wild they do that to escape the heat. What would you all suggest me to do? Promote Reptile Planet! Tell Friends About us! (You Can Erase This Message)

Well if they burrow to escape the heat it makes sense to create a verticle gradient if possible, definately ditch the under tank heat and use the bulb. a gradient sideways is still good though, places to hide in both ends. Try to replicate whjatever it would experience in the wild climate wise.

More pics mate, Wish I could visit all our OS members and see their herps!

Thanks for the help Dan I have the bulb above him now, it seems to like it better. I have a problem though, I have had it for 4 days now, and I have offered frozen thawed pinkie mice to it 2 times. It refused to eat both of those times. Should I not worry that it hasn't eaten yet.

Hell no mate, leave it alone for a week, maybe two, then offer food again. It needs a settling period to adjust to its new surroundings. Try not to handle it for a week or so.

it will be fine, it could go a few months with no food, just make sure it has fresh water always avail. smile.gif

Ok, I know not to handle it and such. I have a small water dish in there for it that I keep fresh water in also. Thanks again.
