SNOWY, the big white crocodile, will be lording it over the main street of Darwin by June next year.
The rare 55-year-old albino will join six other adult salties at Crocosaurus Cove, a $29 million three-level crocodile theme park.
Snowy weighs about 360kg and has been Darwin Crocodile Farm's main attraction for 20 years after being removed from the McArthur River in 1987 by Parks and Wildlife.
Developer Doug Gamble said the albino will join movie-star croc Burt, who made his film debut in Crocodile Dundee as the beast that nearly ate Linda Koslowski.
The adult crocs will be housed in pens in an enclosure that will take up about half the total development area of 5500 sq m.
Tourists will be able to view the crocs through windows, and even walk beneath them in a special viewing cave.
The complete development will take up an entire city block on Mitchell St, in the heart of the tourist precinct.
There will also be a two-storey aquarium with fresh-water fish and turtles - and what developers say will be the largest display of north Australian reptiles in the world.
