Guess who made a silly mistake! herproom/whistling.gif

despite having been holed up in his log for well over a week (sure sign of slough, never see him blueeyed ) I stupidly decided to feed our Darwin last night. Ive been a bit distracted lately and overlooked the condition of his skin (pre slough wrinkly).
So I fed him and since he accepted it, I didnt wakeup to him being ready to slough either (usually refuses, but its been warm, must've been hungry)
Anyway 10 mins after he ate he goes and starts rubbing... herproom/doh.gif
so now I have a fat, largely imobile snake, who is partly shed (face) and yet cannot move much or is now not inclined to, to finish the shed.
So here I am up at 4am, misting him to keep his skin from drying out too much now that hes started, and facing the delicate task of probably having to assist him.
for new folk, this might be daunting since you should not disturb or handle a snake after a meal as it can cause them to regurtitate their food (which itself can cause other problems).
I may need to muck around (very carefully) with a pair of nail scissors to help him get the sloughed skin past the food buldge!
So dont be discouraged by small mistakes during the learning curve, (actually its all a learning curve), because even those of us who should know better can screwup! laugh.gif

Will update and post some pics post-slough (bulge and all) when its done.
