A juvenile red-shouldered hawk (Buteo lineatus) found itself a lizard snack this week in the Homestead Valley area outside Mill Valley. The hawk, perched on a railing of a house, spied the reptile, swooped to the ground to snag it, then quickly returned to its sunny ledge with its prey.
