These two brown snakes were enjoying their time in the sun a couple of months ago when they were snapped by a Yarroweyah dairy farmer.
The picture was taken by Ranjie Oliver on September 18 on the side of the road near his family's dairy farm at Yarroweyah.
Ranjie's wife Lisa said the family stopped in the car and watched the snakes for about 10 minutes before her husband dropped her and the children home and grabbed a camera.
Ranjie returned 10 minutes later to find the snakes in the same spot.
DSE Benalla Wildlife officer Greg Chant said it was most likely the snakes were mating.
Mr Chant said it was important for people to respect snakes and observe them from a distance otherwise they could find themselves getting bitten.
