Holding it that long will only stress it out and make it more agro. They are not Beardies remember that. If you want something to hold get a blue tongue or you will end up loosing fingers!

well i have contacted a great monitor breeder and have ordered a bells lace monitor, the eggs will be layed about the end of december and the monitor will be ready by about next Aygust, which is a hell of a long wayaway but atleast it is affitial. i cant wait.

Taming a Lacie is not so silly as it sounds all animals will grow to a stage "with", and I repeat "with" a lot of respect and gentle handling NO fast movement, will tame down, but no matter what you think and this is where some get into trouble (they are still wild animals and should be treated with the utmost repect at all times) understanding movement, jestures, and don't touch me signs is what its all about building a trust between you and a respect. I don't thing anyone here thinks a whistle and it will come running is what its all about, just being able to handle the animal to look for signs of problem is tame enough. smile.gif

Intresting stuff, I suppose if you handled them alot from a hatchling they would atleast be trustworthy not to take your fingers off, as you said, I suppose you get to 'know' the animal'.
Do you keep monitors Robert? Please post us some pics of anything you keep?
