Went herping last night, and the first carpet we came across must of thought it scored with 2 huuuge rats, is was doing the caudal luring thing at us! That was really cool, I've only seen CB snakes do it, - wish I had a video of it! Its a shame I couldn't get a full body shot of the coastal (very active) as at least the last 3/4 of his body was dorsally stripedAfter that a little brown which was on the move and missed out on getting a photo of it. Also saw and saved a large brown tree snake from the middle of the highway at about 10:00pm, at first thought it was hit by a car but we turned back for a look, and took it off the road and put him up in the tree - hopefully he stayed there! Hasn't been much movement out and about when we go out looking - see heaps of food - field mice, rats bandicoots, white tailed rats and skinks and stuff but not much herps unfortunately. also found a little knobby dragon but missed out on a photo of him too!
