One of the deadliest snakes in the world bit a handler yesterday, putting the Sydney man in hospital. The 34 y.o. was bitten by his pet Taipan about 11.30 am yesterday. He was rushed to Sutherland Hospital, where he was given lifesaving Antivenene. A spokesman said late Yesterday, the man was in a stable condition and would be kept overnight for observation. Before Antivenene was developed during the 50's, Taipan bites were nearly always fatal.
