Gtp's never ceases to amaze me. I often refer to the as "the rolls royce of australian reptiles" which isnt far from the truth and here is some proof.

Yeah have to agree with you Daniel. Though I can't see Parks and Wildlife letting anyone take a few from the wild so we can have some pure Australian bloodlines. Shame really, apparently somethin like 90% of our GTPs in Australia have some PNP blood in them which is a shame.

What is PNP? ............ 30 letters agen

_Daniel_- 01-18-2006

its not that simple spike

foxysnake- 01-18-2006

Spike I wouldn't say that on a public forum! - You never know who might be reading it! And even if you did do that, - you wouldn't be able to tell anyone that they were pure blood aussie gtp's anyway.

PNG - Papua New Guinea.

Problem is localitys are few and small, Iron range dosent exactly crawl with them.

Its a matter of demand, high demand= high price. high price=few owners

few owners=not much breeding not much breeding=not many about

not many about= high demand , high demand = high price. bit of a circle.

If only our gov would allow importing! bastards! laugh.gif

foxysnake- 01-18-2006
that's it Inny, and have you seen how cheap normal GTPs are overseas? I mean, they're obviously not overly interested in them - they're crossing them with carpets!! Meanwhile most people in Australia who keeps herps would gladly sell a piece of their anatomy for one!!

_Daniel_- 01-18-2006

im sorry but i actually think our laws are great, our reptile market is great i reckon i dont care if they expensive as long as we still know what we are buying, like when i asked sorry forgot his name about his BHP's he didnt have a clue where they were from so i would like out market to stay like it is and i think the prices will come down with time they are breeding faster then dien

foxysnake- 01-19-2006
Well, Daniel, as with everything the prices will eventually come down - something alot of people are waiting for!

spike- 01-19-2006
Dont worry guys ive got your backs! When i breed gtp's you can each buy 1 for only$2, 000 cool.gif laugh.gif
