A few days back it rained for the first time in well over a month....As the misting rain came at night I decided to go searching for the Giant Pobblebonk Frog which will surface at this time of year to rejoice in the darkness of that rain coming down. I set forth with a large umbrella & torch so with much searching I finally found one of these amazing frogs that can survive for so long underground untill rain comes. Usually they burrow beside creek or dam banks close to a water course etc , however they can be found quite a long way from any such obvious habitat like down beside fence posts running over the land. Males can be heard calling with a loud "thunk" from Aug to Dec or then again in Mar after the summer is over.

That does look a pretty big frog, quite attractive too, nice coloration! Thanks for sharing!
