Can We Have An Idiots Guide Please?

Ok.... the beardies are a very new thing for me, but eventually they will get bigger and then.... some bubbies would be awesome..

Now, can we please have a step by step idiots guide to breeding beardies?? If I read it a few hundred times while they are growing up I might not stuff it up...

Welcome Back!

Ive not yet written a breeding bearsyd caresheet, though their is a rough guide to looking after hatchys in the caresheet forum. Im yet to get around to that, but if you should find one, or know somebody whos written one, please feel free to post it, or send them this way, we need more caresheets!

In general, if given the right conditions, fed well , they tend to breed themselves!

wow... thats pretty impressive... I should have said idiots guide TO beardies... but with all the eggs and hatchie pictures happening... I got side tracked...

I keep reading that beardies are easy to keep, and yet at the same time I hear all these horror stories about them suddenly dying.

I get real attached to my babies, and am a complete mess when something happens to them, and I am completely NEW to beardies....

Beardys are surprisingly hardy lizards, as long as you provide basics they will thrive.

Pretty much as has been said: given food water & heat, beardies will do the whole thing themselves.Dont panic when you see your first mating, it's pretty brutal

One thing to watch: if you're not there when the girl lays, you'll be struggling to find them. They are phenomenal at hiding their eggs. In fact, I reckon that if your nesting box is 10 feet deep, they'll dig down that far!

Lol your not wrong, Ive seen our girl dig away at the bottom of the container for an hour before she realises she cant dig further! (not too bright)
Makes it hard to get eggs without turning when there buried deep too,
and there so weak when they hatch, you wonder how they manage to dig out!
