Charges Laid Over Gecko Theft

A man and a woman have been jointly charged with theft, burglary and being in possession of protected wild life after three geckos were taken from the Orana wildlife park in Christchurch.
Police say they found the geckos at an address in the suburb of Shirley late this morning.
Orana Park's head keeper of New Zealand fauna, Tara Atkinson-Renton, says she was with police on their raid today and was delighted to find the geckos safe and well.
She says security at Orana Park has already been upgraded since the incident.
