Hi earthling, yes, the crickets in "can-o-crickets" only come in large i think, atleast ivenever seen other sizes, in anycase, a food insect like that should be no bigger than the gap between the beardys eyes. The resoning for that is that some lizards "chew" more thanothers, beardys tendto eat fast, and I suppose toobig a cricket ight getcaught in its throat. You can buy live crickets, these are both healthier because they can be "gutloaded" (fed healthy food, the vitamins etc of which will be passed on to the lizard) and cheaper too. live crickets come in 4 sizes, large, med, small (what you need) and pin heads which are tiny. Of course crickets grow and must behard tosort so you will get some larger in the box, if in doubt feed more smaller ones. woodies (speckled natie cockroaches) are also a common food source and most lizards love them. these come insame sizes. Most folk recommend you dust these insectswith vitamin and calcium powder. Repti-vite and repti-cal are common brands and mostly avail. Dusting ofcrix is a matter of getting the littleblighters into a paper bag for instance along with your powder and shaking. similarfor woodies. Note: woodies escape since they can climb anything. A product called Fluon is commonly available. This isa liqid teflon product which is painted around the inner top of your insect tub. once dried its very slippery, and prevents them climbing out. Its a great handy product, I recommend it! paint the inner rim of your beardys tub too! Insects can be fed daily or you can feed ad-lib (leaving somealways available). I find this easier as they hunt at different times. Leave some dry dog kibbleand raw carrot for the insects to feed on in your beardy tub. this stops them annoying the lizards and because they gather round food, is likea buffet for the lizards. never have too many feed insects in their tub though, or thebaby beardy will become stressed. if you need any advice just ask.
