Hello, just discovered one of my blueies has what appears to be a nose scale missing, looks sore and red. Its not rubbing to escape, so im thinking it was not quite lifted right when it shed last.
Ive cleaned it and treated the nose, cleaning with saline solution, and moved it to a sterile enclosure for hygene (even though i keep cages very clean).
Im not too sure about putting iodine or betadine on its nose since if it licks it will ingest it.
Any ideas please?

sorry inny i cant help neva had a prblem with scale loss before, i would just keep it in a dry sterile place till the abrassion drys up a bit, maybe a doc or friend can help

do you have any antibiotic ointment in th house? Neosporin or the like?

No neosporin no, Ill find out if we can get it here. I have iodine ointment but im concerned about ingestion.
Ill keep her clean/dry meanwhile, antiseptic to clean the nose.

still have no idea how it happened!

Well I'm glad you figured out what happened to its nose! Had me stumped how it got it if it wasn't a nose rub. i find it so unreal how vicous lizards can truly be to each other! So hows the breeding going with the pair?

Well I think Ive seenthe forplay Lol but havent seen tails locked yet, apparently they are really secretive about it. From the nose Im thinking theve already done the biz.
