Hi folks, I discovered a young bluetongue on my front steps today, hiding under my groceries! Because our lizard chewing fox terrier was nearby, I decided to catch it and relocate in a more suitable environ. Unfortunately, The bluey was faster than me and as a result my grab for the base of his tail or lower body missed and I grabbed the tip of his tail instead, with the result of being left with a writhing tail tip, while old blue tried to make his get away!
After applying some betadine to the stump, which surprisingly barely bled at all, he was released in nerarby bush.
I tried to get some pics
